Since 1996, Hyppocampus has been designing, researching and developing innovative machines for the catering business.
20 years ago, we built the first automatic cutlery drier and kept going ever since, constantly searching for new solutions to simplify the job and improve both performance and result.
We were the first in this field and remain the leading company, a reference point for this type of product.
Throughout the years, we have developed a number of useful products, sometimes a bit on the unusual side: rapid wine coolers, large grills and barbeques, small and versatile food driers, smokers, tomato stirrers, and much more.
2003 was the year that proved fundamental for our development: we made the Polentera, a machine that can cook and store polenta (creamy, boiled corn meal), as well as serve it with ease through a tap.
The machine was invented with food trucks and classic take-away food outlets in mind.
Polentera is used by thousands of clients, both in classic restaurants, bars and canteens as well as in new food outlets, like take-away polenta stores or other, more unusual forms of creative catering that are today reinventing traditional dishes like this long-standing Italian food.
